a halter dress and h1n1
November 9, 2009 Greetings friends. We have been completely taken out by two different flu strains, one of them H1N1 (ugh!~ it's going around Rye's school), so please excuse the few and far between postings lately. I have had some of you ask about Halloween pics, and I just haven't had a chance to get them here yet, but they are in my flickr stream. Apple's Princess Leia costume turned out way cuter than I hoped for, so it was worth all of the hard work, and I pretty much ended up re-vamping most of the Anakin Skywalker costume too.
So, the Halter Dress sewing pattern is due to be released tomorrow! So exciting, and I have just fallen in love with Moda's somewhat new line, Happy Campers, so I wanted to use it to make another sample dress. This one is size 1, and will be going in the shop tomorrow. Thank you to all of you who have pre-ordered the pattern, hope you love it!
And on a different note, my 2 year old is scheduled to have her tonsils and adenoids removed on Thursday. Can you say "petrified?" (Me, not her). I am so scared to send her into the surgery, and worried about her pain level afterwards, that I am not sleeping. Even though I know in the long run this surgery will make sure we all get a good night's sleep. Piper's tonsils are so large they're causing her sleep apnea, so she is constantly waking up, or I am, just scared she'll stop breathing in her sleep. Any of you been through this with a very young child? There seems to be no way to prepare her, and no way to explain to her why she'll be in so much pain. Any suggestions? They would be much appreciated!
Have a great week!
